Connect your AI
Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants that speak MCP can work in your Gallery Composer account: describe your photos, compose galleries and pages, write your words and set your colours. You refine the result by eye. Connecting takes about two minutes.
1. The address
Every assistant asks for the same thing, the connector's address:
https://gallerycomposer.com/mcpIt goes in your assistant's custom connector screen, the one with a field for a URL. A search box for plugins or apps won't find it.
2. Add it to your assistant
These apps rename their menus from time to time. If a name below doesn't match your screen, look for the words connector, custom or developer.
Claude (claude.ai, the desktop app)
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector. Name it Gallery Composer and paste the address.
- Choose Connect. A browser page opens here: sign in to Gallery Composer, then press Allow.
- In a chat, open the tools menu under the message box and make sure Gallery Composer is switched on.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may have to add the connector for the organization first.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors (sometimes just Connectors).
- Under Advanced, turn on Developer mode. Then choose Create.
- Name it Gallery Composer, paste the address, choose OAuth for authentication, and create it.
- Sign in to Gallery Composer when asked and press Allow.
- In a chat, pick Gallery Composer from the + menu (under Developer mode) so the chat can use it.
If there's no Developer mode, your plan or workspace may not offer custom connectors yet.
Any other MCP assistant
Add a remote MCP server over HTTP at the address above. It signs in with OAuth: your assistant opens a Gallery Composer page where you sign in and press Allow. There's no key to copy.
3. Check it can see your site
Start a new chat and ask:
It should name your site (or sites, if you work on more than one). Then try:
If it names a site you didn't expect, you signed in with a different account. Revoke it (below) and connect again with the right one.
When it doesn't work
- Nothing happens after pasting the address
- It probably went into a search box. Find the screen for adding a custom connector, the one that asks for a URL.
- “Unknown client”
- The connection request is old or came from somewhere else. Start the connection again from your assistant.
- The sign-in page came back, or it says authorization failed
- The browser window was closed, or more than five minutes passed before Allow. Connect again; nothing was half-set-up.
- It's connected, but the chat says it has no Gallery Composer tools
- Switch the connector on for this chat (the tools or + menu), or start a new chat. After we add new tools, an assistant may need to reconnect to see them.
- It sees the wrong site
- One login can hold several sites. Ask it to list my sites and name the one to work on.
- It can read but won't change anything
- Changes need the Allow that grants them. Revoke it on Account and connect again. Deleting anything always asks you first, in the chat.
Staying in control
- It can read your galleries, site, orders and plan, and change your galleries and site. Never billing, never your password.
- Every change is saved as a restore point you can go back to, from the composer or by asking your assistant.
- To cut it off: Account → Your AI → Revoke. It stops at once.
