Harbor Lights

Six weeks on the north pier, painting the same water at six in the evening. Denim, butter, one tomato boat.

The late ones, when the light went and the harbour turned to ink.

Night Kitchen

Painted after the children slept. Coral and teal, the only colours left on the table.

Field Notes

Small canvases carried in a coat pocket. Plum for the hedgerows, mint for the first week of May.

The same walk in October.

The Blue Series

Fourteen paintings, one colour, every ground I could find.

Kitchen Table

Breakfast things. Butter, tomato, a denim cloth. Painted fast, before the coffee went cold.

Small Fires

Coral and ochre on black linen. The winter show.
